Machine Shop Wedding | Minneapolis, MN | Lisa & Joe

Lisa and Joe were such a joy to be around! These two are always laughing and smiling which made planning together really fun. I wish we could do it all over again!

A few of my favorite memories from their wedding day:

Their attire! They both looked amazing and really complimented each other. Check out Lisa's gorgeous ballgown-style dress and beautifully detailed veil. Joe is crushing it in his forest green suit.

These two have a great proposal story, related to The Price Is Right, so their grand entrance was kicked off with the theme song and an announcement of "Joe & Lisa! Come on dowwwwwn!"

The lighting! Phos Events installed cafe lights in a tented style, which looked SO GOOD. This is a fun alternative to the traditional look with the lights swagged back and forth across the room. "Swagged" is a verb, right?

Check out some photos below from Ester Knowlen Photography. Ester was so fantastic to work with too, by the way, and she created some amazing images. It was really hard to pick which ones to show here because there were so many beauties to choose from!

Aria Wedding | Minneapolis, MN | Morgan & John

Morgan and John are the sweetest! These cheery lovebirds smile through everything that comes their way and have a way of making everyone around them feel at ease. Even the coldest of Minnesota winter temperatures couldn't keep these two from beaming.

A few of my favorite memories from their wedding day: Their officiant was a family member, friend and first-timer at leading nuptials, and he had everyone in tears with his comical anecdotes-- he may have found his new calling.

The wedding party was a great gang of friends and they stuck together as a group, joining the bride and groom in celebration all day long. You'll see them on the dance floor together in the video from Vaughter Weddings below. Love it!

Morgan & John let their love and their loved ones be the focus at this celebration. By focusing their decor on lighting, specifically candlelight, up-lights and cafe lights, the mood in the room was perfect for great conversation and celebration.

Day Block Event Center Wedding | Natalie & Alex

Natalie and Alex were a dream to work with! It always took us a while to get down to business when we met because we always had so much to chat about. It's just to fun to have fun! ;)

A couple of my favorite moments from their wedding day at Day Block Event Center

#1: These two had a private first look, and then had their photographer join them after. I thought it was so great that these two felt confident about setting their own priorities for the wedding day to have the special moments they wanted most.

#2: These two love their pup, Kato. He made an appearance for photos before the ceremony and was also featured on all of the table number cards.

#3: When Alex proposed to Natalie, he had decorated a park with tons of string lights and had giant glittery white letters that said "Marry Me." Those letters were on display at the wedding on their dessert table. Adorbs!  And for dessert they had Sara's Tipsy Pies, deliciously boozy little hand-pies. Yum!

#4: Those shoes. That dress. I mean, come on. GORGEOUS! <3

Solar Arts by Chowgirls Wedding | Sula & Danny

I was lucky enough to be added to Sula & Danny's wedding day team just about two weeks prior to their wedding day, and what a joy it was! I was so glad to help out and be the extra set of hands these two needed so they could enjoy their day with their loved ones and get lots of great photos. These two have a contagious enthusiasm about them and were super fun to work with!

A couple of my favorite things about their wedding day:
#1: Beautiful Sula rocked two different dresses on her wedding day, but neither were traditional wedding gowns. She chose pieces from her favorite designers so she could wear them again. Cool!

#2: Their guest favors were little single-source honey jars from Ames Farm. A local gift for their guests that had traveled from all over to be there - nice! Plus, they said "Sula & Dan - Meant to Bee," on them which is totally adorable. (Side note: Bee puns will forever remind me of that one Simpson's Valentine's episode where Ralph falls in love with Lisa.)

#3: They brought in several different cakes from Cafe Latte so their guests could have fun choosing which one (or two) to have a piece from. Everyone was super excited about this!

I loved this day! Thank you to Sula & Danny for including me on your team!

Bauhaus Brew Labs Wedding | Hannah & Linden

Yahoo! Another beautiful Bauhaus Brew Labs wedding! How did I get so lucky?

I really enjoyed working with Hannah & Linden! These two are so kind and thoughtful in the way that they show their love and appreciation for those around them. It might be a record for how many times I've teared up at a wedding. Their ceremony was beautiful, their speeches so sweet, their first dances, adorable! What an awesome example of a couple that not only complements each other, but also all of the people around them.

Hannah and Linden brought in a decor team from the scavenger-style, occasionally-open boutique Your Lucky Day to add some personal touches to the Bauhaus space. YLD doesn't do decor on a regular basis, but Hannah & Linden loved the style in their store so much they asked them to give it a shot. And it really was their lucky day, because the YLD team came through and did an awesome job!

Bauhaus Brew Labs Wedding | Katie & Alex

I'm not shy about saying that Bauhaus Brew Labs is one of my favorite places on earth. It's an awesome brewery, run by a really fun family and a great group of their best friends. Add a wedding into the mix and my heart explodes!

I had the joy of working with Katie and Alex for their wedding at Bauhaus this past June. These two are the SWEETEST and are surrounded by a really fun family and a great group of best friends. Catch the theme? This day was totally awesome!

Some of my favorites from the day: These two kicked off the day with fun by renting a limo bus to take their bridal party around the city for photos. What a great way to take some stress out of the day - get on a bus and go for it! For their ceremony processional song, Katie and Alex chose "Sweet Pea" by Amos Lee. Listen to that cute tune and try not to tear up a little. The decor they chose was simple and sweet - gold painted bottles filled with sprigs of babies breath, a nice complement to the Bauhaus space which doesn't require a lot of jazzing up. And their first dances! I'm not sure whether they practiced or not, but these two and their parents have MOVES. It was great to see everyone having a great time and celebrating to the fullest.

Here are a few images from Maris Ehlers Photography from the day. I love seeing these smiling faces!

Red Barn Farm Wedding | Kaia & Michael

Have you ever felt like you were in the presence of a real-life Disney princess and her prince? Oh. My. Gosh. Kaia & Michael are that couple. They are so kind-hearted and caring to everyone around them. I imagine that loving whole-heartedly like they do is how they've accumulated such a wonderful group of friends and family.

Kaia & Michael's day was interrupted off and on by rain showers, but they smiled through the whole thing. The rain held off long enough for them to get some outdoor photos, but forced us to enact the rain plan for the ceremony. The barn created such an intimate environment for the ceremony, it ended up being super sweet!

Some of my favorites from this day included the beautiful watercolor flowers on the programs done by the bride herself, the PIZZA served for dinner by Red Barn Farm (go there for a pizza night - it's GOOD), and the gigantic dance party kept rolling for the entire night. It was awesome!

Check out the photos below from Michelle Tanner Photography and the video at the bottom from Kathleen Quinn Films. Make sure to watch all the way through the end to see the dance party!

Day Block Event Center Wedding | Alexiz & Michael

Alexiz and Michael are always laughing. You'll see it in their photos. It was a joy to spend the day with them!

You guys. Their ceremony was AMAZING. They invited five different speakers, mostly couples, that were at varying stages of marriage; newlyweds to lifetime loves, to speak about and give advice on marriage and doing life together. Everyone was crying - even me, in the back room while I was prepping for the room flip. I'm tearing up right now thinking about it. This one really made the case for personalizing your ceremony and making it extra special to you and your loved ones.

Their decor was so sweet. Vintage postcards, bright peonies, touches of gold, and succulents everywhere! Dayblock Event Center was a perfect setting for their epic party. Check out some of the photos below by the talented Lucas Botz

Back in February, I took a trip to Peru for two weeks with a friend to visit a couple of our besties that are currently living there. It was the first big trip I've taken and it was FUN.

We hit up the cat park in Lima where there are, for real, cats everywhere. We spent some time at a beach town called Mejia. We bought big hats and went to the horse track. We wore ponchos and drank pisco on a rooftop.

We hiked down into Colca Canyon with a super cool guide to a little oasis of bungalows. We learned about native plants and creatures. We got up at 4:30am to hike out of the canyon (uff!).

We ate a ton of Peruvian food: new fruits, chocolate, potatoes! We thoroughly explored Arequipa.  We hugged a lot. We laughed. What a blast!

If you can make it happen, take a trip somewhere! Adventure is calling!
